With captain Marek Ujlaky and a significantly changed line-up, Spartak entered the Boleráza field for the duel of the 2nd round of the Slovnaft Cup. The match attracted 1100 spectators and Ristovski had the first chance, but in the 8th minute Jedliček kicked his attempt. The Trnava striker did not succeed even in the 15th minute, when he went over Boleráz's goal from a turn.
The home team struck in the 22nd minute, when he placed a cross from the right side into the goal of Spartak Planet - 1:0. A quick reply was close, but Bukata's free-kick hit the crossbar. Until the end of the half, it was one goal, but the favorite of the match could not produce a clear chance.
After halftime, up to five new players arrived on the field, coach Gašparík sent Štefánik, Daniel, Koštrno, Yusuf and Savvidis to the field. The quality manifested itself almost immediately, but it was still at the level of pressure after the penalty area without a dangerous chance. The home team defended responsibly, the leadership in the duel motivated them to play to the limit of their abilities. Liberation in the form of an equalizer came in the 70th minute, when Štefánik's corner kick returned to the player and the second cross found the home team's Bagi, who scored an own goal - 1:1.
Spartak continued to press, mostly they were dangerous in the center from the sides, but again there was no clear chance to score. In the end, a penalty should probably have been whistled for the hand of the home player, but the referee had a different opinion. The shots from the penalty spot had to be decided.

Michal Gašparík, coach of Spartak: "This is what it looks like when you want to give a chance to a wider cadre of players who play less. On the other hand, when are they supposed to start, if not in such a duel? We conceded a goal, then we struggled, the pitch was bumpy, but it doesn't matter, because in a game like this the quality has to show and it didn't. It's not enough to move the ball for 90 minutes, you have to do something extra and we didn't do that. At least we progressed happily. We expected the opponent to play in a deep block. However, my players surprised me. This wasn't about bad attitude, it was okay. This is about the quality of the players, it looked disastrous."
