Today, both of tomorrow's opponents completed the traditional pre-match training, and representatives of both clubs also appeared before journalists at a press conference.
Home captain Michal Gašparík revealed in an unconventional way what line-up the Spartans should start with tomorrow from the opening minutes. "All the players are fine and ready for tomorrow's match. He knows where Rakow has his strengths, but also his weaknesses, which he did not want to point out in advance. "They are well prepared systemically, they are organized and disciplined. They have a very good selection of typologies of players who are quality footballers and at the same time know how to run a lot with great intensity and fight."
Captain Martin Mikovič played dozens of matches in Poland and knows some of the players personally. "They are a good team, but we also have good quality and I believe that we will get a good result at home with the help of the spectators." He was pleased with the information that Martin Škrtel will also be at the match, who kept his word and will enjoy the match in the cauldron on the north stand, so that he can at least actively encourage when he can no longer help directly on the pitch. Visiting coach Marek Papszun paid a courtesy bow to our team at the beginning, but he is aware that losing to Spartak would be perceived as a failure in Poland, although it would not be the first time that the Slovak team sent a Polish competitor out of Europe.
"We came to play against one of the leading Slovak teams, which is a regular participant in European cups. In recent years, Slovak clubs have been more successful than Polish ones. However, that is history and we have our goals and we want to present ourselves from the better side.“
