Tomorrow, a strong opponent from Dunajská Streda will visit Trnava. The team from Žitné ostrov has been led by Adrián Guľa since the new season, and they expect him to progress both in terms of play and results, which should stop the turnover of coaches. So far he is doing well and DAC is in second place in the table, right behind Slovan.
"With the same players, it's a different Dunajská Streda with a change of coach. They have quality, maybe they are a slight favorite, but we are playing at home and it is within our power to beat them. I believe it will be a good match. They play offensively, so do we, and it could look attractive." says Michal Gašparík, although there have been a few changes in the DAC staff. Last week, North Macedonian football player Enis Fazlagič, former player of Žilina, strengthened the team. After a long convalescence, Zsolt Kalmár, who was the biggest support of the team before his injury, started to jump into the matches and his absence was felt.
Both rivals were eliminated from the European Cup competitions last week, and Michal Gašparík gave the team two days off. "After two days, there is usually a slower start, but that's completely fine. I already felt such a relaxation even on the bus after the last game that it fell off of all of us. We were under pressure, we didn't have a good result, and I don't know if Trnava has ever won 4-0 in Michalovci."
The players praised the short break from football, and the fans believe that they will transfer the accumulated energy on the lawn on Saturday. "I spent two days off with my family, but there was no swimming pool, I didn't want to go to the sun in such heat. We were in Zelenča on a house and after those long weeks it went well for us. At my age, I can't have about two days off. After just one day, I have to start doing something, because then it's harder to get going," says captain Martin Mikovič with a smile, who is looking forward to the match between the two teams that score the most. "According to the statistics, it should be an attractive match. Dunajská Streda went up in performance under coach Guľ. Probably every coach who came to Dunajská after the previous one would look excellent now. We are preparing for them, we know that they will want to play football and that could suit us. However, the tactics are up to the coach. We players are ready to give everything on the field, we are at home, we know what style we want to play and we could start converting chances."
The traditionally stormy backdrop, which both fan camps tend to take care of, could also contribute to the quality of the match. "We will win in the stands, but it is good that a team like Dunajská Streda will come, which has fans behind it. Even our players can shout with them, and it won't be just about them singing the whole match by themselves. We will fight for victory on the field, and they will fight in the stands," Mikovič did not hide his determination.
The match starts on Saturday, August 20 from 18:00, none of the televisions will broadcast it live, and the heat should also subside, so ideal conditions for a visit to the stadium, for anyone who is not looking for excuses.
