Laser arena, free time and the cup tomorrow

The Spartak team enjoyed the first free weekend since the beginning of the season. After four matches in the European Conference League, eleven league duels and one in the domestic cup, they had a less demanding week and three days of complete rest. True, it did not concern the representatives, who had their own duties. Dominik Takáč was with the Slovakian team, Milan Ristovski started in both League of Nations matches in the starting line-up of North Macedonia, Sebastian Kóša is awaiting the rematch of the tie against Ukraine today in the fight for promotion to the European Under-21 Championship, and Marek Ujlaky is in distant Uzbekistan with the twenty-year-old.

"We trained only until Thursday and ended the week with team building. We were in the laser arena, we had fun maybe a little like little boys, but it was good and it served its purpose. Then we broke it up and the guys enjoyed three days off. I traveled and spent some time with my family. On Monday, we met with new energy and we are going to work," Spartak coach Michal Gašparík said at the beginning of the interview. Some players took the "fighting" in the laser arena seriously, and one member of the implementation team ended up with several cuts in the heat of the game. Anyway, everyone enjoyed not only the game, but also the virtual reality simulation, which in turn caused problems with the balance.

Several players needed a break to heal their injuries. However, not everyone will make it to tomorrow's cup match, not even the next league duel on Sunday in Zlaté Moravce. "The players are recuperating, it just takes longer. Buki needs about two more weeks to train fully. Kubo Paur was added there, who after the derby with Slovan discovered that he had a broken bone in his leg and also needed treatment. We believe that not long. The positive thing is that Tumma, who was injured before Slovan and it was suspected that he had a torn ligament, was not confirmed in the end and he will have a shorter break from football. The others are available."

Spartak will present itself tomorrow from 15:30 in the 3rd round of the Slovnaft Cup in Trenčianske Stankovce. The local OŠK has so far beaten Partizánske (5:0) and Nové Mesto (2:0) in the cup. In the long-term competition, the north-west is in 7th place in its 5th league. In the previous match, Spartak had trouble with Boleráz, when they progressed only after penalties, and they do not want to repeat this this time.

"Sebo Kóša will be with us tomorrow, Ristovski will join later, Ulino will also be missing. Younger guys who play less will also get a chance, but players who play steadily will be the main players. We don't want to underestimate anything, so that the match with Boleráz does not repeat itself, and I believe that we will watch the progress," concluded Gašparík.

As announced, the Spartans will have to do without their home turf at the Anton Malatinský Stadium in the coming weeks. Since yesterday, the grass area has been replaced. The top layer is gradually milled, which will be replaced by a new one. So the next match will not take place in Trnava until November 11, when we welcome Skalica.
