On Saturday, the Spartans will travel to the opponent's field for the second match this season, when they will meet the local MFK in Skalica. Skaličani advanced to the league from third place in the 2nd league when they used the opportunity to replace the relegated Senica and Sereď. They will thus repeat the 2015/16 season, when they performed among the Slovak elite for the first time.
This season, the team from Záhori is led by the experienced coach Juraj Jarábek, who has brought several players with a Spartak past into the squad - Čögley, Yao, Václav and Vlasko. They are currently ninth in the table with five points for a win over Trenčín (3:0) and draws with ViOn and Podbrezová.
In three matches against each other seven years ago, Spartak did not lose a single point and many goals were scored. Not once did the goalkeepers keep a clean sheet. Trnava successively won 3:2, 2:1 and 5:1. The memorials of these matches on the Trnava side in the current squad are Martin Mikovič and Ľuboš Kamenár. However, Mikovič will not participate in the match due to the penalty for the red card.
It is interesting that Spartak was then led by the current coach Skalice Jarábek. On the other hand, the current coach of Spartak Trnava, Michal Gašparík, also played in the green and white Skalice jersey in both autumn matches. And to make matters worse, he scored in both. The wild match was the only match between each other in Záhorí. Gašparík scored after only 15 seconds of the first action, five minutes later Lietava, another ex-Sparta player, added a goal with a nice lob, and Skalica immediately led 2:0. However, it was still 2:3 (Casado, Mikovič, Vojtuš) before halftime, and that's how the match ended.
This season, Spartak will encounter its third newcomer. He lost against Banská Bystrica at home, drew with Podbrezová, so a win is required for the third place. "We have already had training and we are expecting a competitive match. We want to win, so we have to score as soon as possible and then take care of it." says Erik Daniel, who opened his scoring account in Spartak in the last match. On Saturday, he will have a jump from his home for the match and expects more support in the audience. "I am from Holíč, which is five kilometers from Skalice, and I will have many acquaintances there. I have played there once before and I think it will be a normal match. I have Skaličans among them, but I believe that the majority will support me."
In addition to the carded Mikovič, the injured Jakub Paur will not be able to start the match, on the contrary, Roman Procházka, who is already training fully with the team, could be available.
