They fixed the spoiled taste of Rožomberok in Trenčín

In the first quarter of the match, both sides played brisk football, but mostly between the penalty boxes without a shot on goal. On the other side, after an action from the left side, the ball reached Ristovský, but the stopper blocked his shot. Soon, however, the Trnava attacker gained ground. Mikovič crossed the entire penalty area to the far post, where Daniel still kept the ball in play, passed it back to the free Ristovsko, who opened the scoring with a powerful shot. After the goal, the home team visually took the initiative, but they did not get a chance. On the contrary, Spartak could have won by a greater margin during the break. In the 43rd minute, Paur won the ball on the center of the pitch, exchanged it with Daniel, who released him in the penalty area. Paur still tried to pass it back to Daniel in front of the goal, but he missed a bit to catch the ball. After the subsequent corner Štetina headed just over the goal at the near post. In stoppage time, Koštrna weaved his way up to the penalty area, jammed the defender, tried to surprise him with a shot to the near post, although everyone expected a pass, but Kukučka kicked the ball away at the last moment.

Spartak entered the second half well. Procházka played a corner on the ground to Daniel, who returned the ball to him. We wanted to go into the derby from second place to attract as many people as possible to the stadium. The match looked exactly as we modeled it. We wanted to play zero at the back, have a good defense and for that you have to work a lot without the ball and be active so as not to let Trenčín into chances. I wanted us to be efficient and that happened today. We knew that those chances would not be like before, but we need to convert them. We immediately gave the first, the second, and then it plays better. It's a shame at the end of those break situations that we didn't resolve, but we are satisfied with both the performance and the result."
